Language, Literacy, Skills and Employment Training Programs

Provided by DIVERSEcity Community Resources Society (DCRS)

Offers different programs that help immigrant and marginalized jobseekers learn about the Canadian labour market, find educational and training opportunities, and prepare to enter or re-enter the Canadian workforce.
The Employment Service's team offers several programs to assist immigrant job seekers to learn about the Canadian labor market, explore educational and training opportunities and prepare them to enter/re-enter the Canadian workforce. All programs are specially designed for immigrants facing multiple barriers to employment such as English language, foreign credentials, lack of Canadian work experience and cultural differences and settlement issues.

DIVERSEcity’s Language Programs offer a range of free English as second language classes and programs geared to the needs of the community through the Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) program and the Moving Ahead program. As well as providing English training, the program ensures that the needs of newcomers are met by providing information about community and resources, as well as the skills for adapting to Canadian society and the Canadian work environment. These programs are offered at different times of day and week to accommodate the needs of clients and are supported by on-site childcare.
