Settlement and Integration Program

Provided by DIVERSEcity Community Resources Society (DCRS)

A holistic service for immigrants and refugees settling in Surrey, North Delta, White Rock, and Langley.
Clients are provided with an initial assessment to identify needs, as well as clients’ assets and capacities. With their Settlement Worker, clients develop an individual action plan that reflects their goals and preferences including information and services required.
Help includes:
  • Community information
  • Information about housing, banking, health care, school, and daycare
  • Filling forms and applications for government services
  • Learn how British Columbia operates, including public transportation, legal systems, and driver licensing
  • English language support services
  • Opportunities to make social or employment-related connections
  • Programs and services for youth, young adults, and seniors
  • Support preparing for the Canadian Citizenship test
  • Free courses such as computer basics and conversational English
  • Orientation, life skills, and educational workshops and courses which will assist you in settling in British Columbia.
For clients who are experiencing multiple barriers in their settlement and adaptation transition, the Settlement and Integration Program offers a Guided Pathways approach to service provision. Guided Pathways applies a case managed methodology, providing a more comprehensive assessment, an individualized settlement, and integration plan with a facilitated approach.
