F.A.M.E. Post Stroke Exercise Program

A medically supervised exercise program for people after stroke.
FAME is a group exercise program developed for people with stroke who have some standing and walking ability. The goal of the program is to improve overall mobility, build up lost cardiovascular endurance, and develop arm and hand functions with the guidance of an experienced personal trainer. Each session runs for 14 classes over 7 weeks. The Fitness and Mobility Exercise program was designed by a Physiotherapist from UBC for people after stroke. Participants need a Doctor's referral to attend.
Caregivers are allowed to attend the exercise classes with participants.
There is a program cost of $99 (this includes a private assessment) for 14 classes.
This is a program run by the City of White Rock and supported by Move for Life, a health promotion project funded by the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation.
