Parents Forever - Mental Health and Substance Use Parental Support Group

Provided by Lookout Society

A mutual support group for parents and family members of adults struggling with substance use, mental health issues, or both.
Parents Forever addresses a wide range of issues aimed at building resilience under difficult circumstances and maintaining the best relationships possible with loved ones. This includes supporting without enabling, setting firm and sensible boundaries, learning how to communicate effectively with your loved one and more. They also offer information and resources for parents.

Joining Parents Forever is usually done over the phone with Lookout Society; they will explain what to expect from the group, its philosophy, and its mandate. All members are asked to register in advance before joining the weekly Friday sessions.

Currently most of the meetings happen virtually on Zoom, the group meets in person several times throughout the year at St. Mary's Church in the Kerrisdale neighborhood of Vancouver. Any changes will be announced.
